Product Description

Epifanes Easy‑Flow 1000ml (EF.1000) is a multi‑purpose additive and stand‑alone impregnating oil formulated from a selection of natural oils. It enhances the flow of traditional one‑component paints and varnishes, improves wet‑edge time, seals wood, and inhibits rust on steel surfaces.

Easy‑Flow is ideal for improving application performance under cold, hot, or fast‑drying conditions. It can be applied full‑strength as a penetrating wood sealer or added to compatible Epifanes coatings to optimize flow, adhesion, and surface protection.

Do not use with Epifanes Multi Marine Primer, Mono‑urethane, Poly‑urethane, or epoxy‑based products. Not recommended for white or light‑colored paints due to natural yellowing over time.

Available in 500ml and 1000ml (~1 qt) sizes.

Recommended Uses

Flow Enhancer

Add 5–10% by volume to traditional one‑component and half‑synthetic paints (e.g., Yacht Enamel) and varnishes (e.g., Clear Varnish, Woodfinish, Rapidclear, Rapidcoat) to improve flow, leveling, and wet‑edge time. Ideal for cold, hot, or windy conditions.

Rust Inhibitor

• Apply full‑strength to steel after removing loose rust
• Penetrates thin rust layers and stabilizes the surface

Wood Sealer

• Apply full‑strength to bare wood as an impregnating sealer
• Improves adhesion and enhances wood protection

Limitations

• Do not use with Epifanes Multi Marine Primer
• Do not use with Epifanes Mono‑urethane or Poly‑urethane products
• Do not use with epoxy‑based products
• May yellow over time; not ideal for white or light‑colored paints

• Use Easy‑Flow sparingly. A 5–10% addition is typically enough to improve flow without softening the coating.
• Ideal for challenging conditions. Cold mornings, hot afternoons, or windy days are when Easy‑Flow provides the greatest benefit.
• Expect a slight tack. This is normal and improves adhesion for subsequent coats.
• Excellent for brightwork. Adding a small amount to varnish helps maintain a wet edge on large panels.
• Compatible only with traditional systems. Do not mix with urethane or epoxy coatings.
• As a wood sealer, apply full strength. It penetrates deeply and creates an excellent base for primers and paints.
• For rust work, remove loose rust first. Easy‑Flow penetrates thin rust layers but cannot stabilize heavy flaking rust.
• Yellowing is normal. Avoid using Easy‑Flow in white or light‑colored paints.
